Our client, a well-established organisation in the agricultural sector, is seeking to appoint a detail-oriented and experienced candidate to join their team.

ACCOUNTANT
Hoedspruit

Requirements:

•       Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance (BCom Accounting or related) with completed SAICA or SAIPA articles

•       Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in accounting

•       Pastel accounting experience (essential)

•       Experience in the citrus / packhouse industry will be advantageous

•       Strong attention to detail and structured approach to work

•       High level of integrity and accountability

•       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•       Ability to work independently and within a team

•       Strong problem-solving and analytical ability

Key Responsibilities:

•       Accurate and timely processing of transactions on Pastel (leases, loans, etc.)

•       Weekly cashflow management and payment preparation

•       Statutory reporting and compliance (VAT, EMP201, etc.)

•       Monthly billing to producers and Accounts Receivable management

•       Bi-weekly payout management (advances, final and local payments)

•       Stock control monitoring and bill of material calculations

•       Reconciliation of packhouse data to trial balance

•       Forecasting and analysing producer income

•       Overseeing Accounts Payable and managing finance clerk

•       Monthly budget vs actual reporting

•       Assisting with annual budgets and external audit preparation

•       Building reports and extracting data for business analysis
