OPERATOR GR4: FORKLIFT (Grading B1)

 Job specification

• Grade 10,11,12 or equivalent qualification
• Certificated/ licensed to operate a forklift  
• English proficiency and any additional language from 11 official languages
• Experience in trackless mining will be advantageous
• 1-3 years’ experience operating a forklift in a mining environment or industrial environment
• Must have Dover test results or will be submitted for Dover Declared
• Must be a legal South African citizen
•  Clear Criminal Record
• Declared Medically fit for the position at our OHP

 Responsibilities

• Work a circle of shifts
• Responsible for operating the forklift
• Assist with and monitor preventative and breakdown maintenance during shift (fill up fuel, oil, lubrication, etc.)
• Be observant/ vigilant during loading, offloading, stacking and safe storage of goods and any other related duties
• Report any damages on goods offloaded or loaded to relevant stakeholders
• Ensure that the machine is in good operating order and report any faults and inconsistencies to supervisor (s) and controller (s)
• Always take instructions from the supervisor responsible for the area/ work place
• Adhere and comply with health and safety standards and regulations
• Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Group’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
