Description
The purpose of this position is to equip staff with the knowledge and practical skills to carry out work-related tasks, and to help with the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees' skills to enable them to fulfil their potential within the Plant.
Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources
• Design, plan and implement a framework for the effective delivery of standardized training, management routines and reporting to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate and drive the review and updating of site-based training databases and matrices.
• Plan, coordinate and drive consistent application of approved policies and procedures.
• Participate in the development and updating of training materials and ensure uploading onto appropriate LMS platforms.
• Provide day-to-day support for site-based Training departments.
• Design, plan, coordinate and implement appropriate electronic filing / record keeping protocols for all sites to align with.
• Support the L&D Manager to coordinate and schedule reporting routines with site-based training and line management teams.
• Support Line Managers and Training Officers through the Training Needs Analysis process.
• Compile and submit the Company’s WSP and ATR annually.
• Be the Company’s registered Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) working with various SETA’s.
• Plan, coordinate and drive site-based skills development committee meetings.
• Implement and uphold Company policies and procedures.
• Generate accurate L&D reports.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement on all L&D processes.
• Give input to opportunities for automation, system enhancements and new learning technologies
People Management and Training
• Provide input to site-based Line Managers on Training Officer delivery and performance.
• Provide feedback to Training Officers on delivery and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the L&D Manager to prepare career development plans, appraisals and feedback to Training Officers.
• Supervise subordinates in their daily activities to ensure that administration is according to organisational standards and training requirements.
• Advise line on skills development of personnel.
• Provide information for the development of succession plans.
• Promote adherence to HRD related legislative requirements.
Health, Safety and Legal Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with Gamsberg Health and Safety responsibilities
• Identify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks
• Comply with provided systems, practices, methods, standards and procedures of the job
• Comply with legal and operational requirements
• Ensure adherence to statutory legislation
Qualification Requirement
• Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED qualifications such as the N3 Certificate.
• Certificate in Training & Development (OD ETDP level 5 certificate) or relevant qualification
• A valid Trade Certificate in a Mechanical / Electrical Engineering discipline or a Mineral Processing Certificate will be advantageous
• Assessors Certificate
• Moderators Certificate will be advantageous
• Skills Development Facilitator certificate will be advantageous
Experience and Skills Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a training environment in the mining or mineral processing industry
• Knowledge of Isometrix / HSEC systems
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a training environment
• English Language Proficiency
• Presentation skills
• Work effectively with colleagues, trainees, supervisor and managers
• Must have good interpersonal skills
• Require strong analytical, management and decision-making skills to assess training needs and recommend appropriate solutions
• Must also set an example to other employees by demonstrating a commitment to personal development
• Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1
