About the CUMI YES Programme 2026

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a national initiative aimed at addressing youth unemployment by providing young South Africans between the ages of 18 to 35 with work experience and essential skills. Through the YES Programme, Cape Union Mart International offers exciting opportunities in Cape Town, helping youth build their careers.

Job Overview 
We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic young South Africans to join our team through the YES Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for youth to gain invaluable work experience in an engaging retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional customer service by applying effective sales and engagement techniques.
• Consistently achieve individual performance and sales targets.
• Support daily store operations and contribute to overall sales performance
• Maintain compliance with in‑store stock‑loss and shrinkage‑control procedures
• Develop strong communication, teamwork, and customer‑interaction skills to enhance workplace effectiveness.
• Ensure high store standards by maintaining housekeeping and upholding visual merchandising guidelines to drive sales.
• Consistently meet all YES Programme milestones and performance expectations.
  
  

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must:

• Possess a Matric certificate (preferred but not mandatory).
• Be available to work a 12-month fixed-term contract.
• Have been unemployed from the 1st of February 2026
• Not be engaged in full-time studies during the employment period (March 2026-February 2027).
• Have not previously participated in the YES Programme.
• Be responsible for their own accommodation and transportation (if applicable).
