Overview
A reputable steel manufacturing company based in Rosslyn, is seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Machine Operator to join their production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC plasma cutting machines, a solid understanding of steel materials, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC plasma machines to cut steel components to specification.
- Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on machines; report faults promptly.
- Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment; follow all H&S procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience operating CNC plasma cutting machines.
- Experience within the steel or metal fabrication industry preferred.
- Matric is not required but would be an advantage.
- Good understanding of machine setup, operation, and basic maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team.
- Willingness to work cross-functional when required (support other production areas as needed).
Additional (Favourable) Capabilities
- Crane operator licence.
- Forklift licence.
