PRINCIPAL PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: FIXED NETWORKS

TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1,307,905 TO R1,818,870 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: CS 11/26 ● CAPE TOWN CIVIC CENTRE

Requirements:   

• A relevant three-year professional tertiary ICT qualification, in Electronic Engineering (Specialising in Telecommunications) or a National Diploma/degree in Computer Science or Information Technology 
• Project Management will be an advantage 
• Minimum eight (8) years’ relevant industry experience, of which at least two (2 years must be at a senior level 
• Computer literacy in MS Office and SAP 
• Valid driver’s licence will be an advantage.

Key performance areas:  

• Provide technical expertise in Data Centre equipment, Local Area Network and Wi-Fi solutions in the Fixed Networks Infrastructure Branch 
• Manage technical projects, ensuring adherence to standards, specifications, and SOPs 
• Provide input into project requirements, tender specifications, and adjudication of tenders 
• Ensure supervision as technical team lead to drive solution implementation and problem resolution 
• Support management to ensure effective and efficient operations within the Networks domain 
• Deliver maintenance and support to the business 
• Implement, monitor and manage service level agreements with internal and external parties 
• Ensure adequate documentation and reporting in line with SOPs and requirements 
• Manage and monitor the capital and operating budget of the Fixed Networks section 
• Identify and escalate operational risks impacting service delivery 
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations 
• Manage assets and inventory 
• Ensure compliance with telecommunications processes and procedures.
