Our client, an international specialist manufacturer in the chemical processing industry, seeks to employ a qualified Procurement Specialist for a newly created role in this progressive market leader. Please note this is a mid-career level role, where hands on expertise in managing strategic procurement operations within a multicultural and multi-country environment; including export and logistics

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

You will have a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or related field, coupled with 7 plus years experience in the chemical, petrochemical, construction materials or related manufacturing sector
You must have proven expert negotiation capability and contract management experience; demonstrate regional sourcing experience in SA and cross-border into Africa, as well as the negotiation, implementation, and management of framework agreements for key spend categories in raw materials and production consumables
You will have a track record in overseeing inventory control to minimise stockholding levels and reduce stock value; as well as leading demand forecasting and ensuring timely order placement aligned to vendor lead times;
Solid experience required in performing risk management for supply contracts and agreements; implementing procurement and supply chain policies with a focus on process simplification and digitalisation and managing new supplier approvals, supplier performance monitoring, SLAs, and supplier failure reporting
You will have exceptional influencing, persuasion, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently, strategically, and operationally in a complex regional environment.
You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
