Our client, an established clearing and forwarding company based in Paarl (specialising in the agricultural, wine, and perishable goods sectors), is looking for a Mid-Level Operations Controller to join their operations team.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-driven, and confident in managing operations independently, particularly within the wine and perishable supply chain, while working closely with internal teams, service providers, and clients in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Manage and control end-to-end operations for wine and perishable shipments; Coordinate clearing, forwarding, warehousing, and transport activities *Monitor shipment progress, timelines, and operational documentation *Ensure correct handling, storage, and movement of perishable goods *Identify, manage, and resolve operational issues, delays, or discrepancies *Maintain accurate operational records and reporting *Liaise directly with clients, service providers, and internal stakeholders *Support junior teams members where requires *All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• 2-5 years’ experience in operations, logistics or clearing and forwarding;
• Previous experience working with wine products and exposure to perishable / cold chain logistics will be advantageous;
• Experience with clearing and forwarding processes and documentation will be advantageous;
• Strong understanding of operational workflows and deadlines;
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
• Good communication skills and a proactive solution-oriented mindset;
• Own reliable transport.
