Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Driver to support daily transportation needs at our camp facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting staff, supplies, and occasionally guests between designated locations in a safe and timely manner. This role also involves vehicle maintenance checks, adherence to driving schedules, and assisting with general camp support duties when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general logistics, including delivery of supplies, equipment, and luggage handling.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of camp vehicles; perform regular checks and basic maintenance, reporting any issues promptly.
- Adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles in compliance with company safety regulations.
- Transport goods, equipment, and personnel to and from specified locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Load and unload goods or equipment as needed, ensuring their safe handling and secure storage.
- Provide a high level of customer/ every staff service and professionalism when interacting with guest and colleagues.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and emergency procedures, including first aid and crisis response.
- Ensure that all required vehicle documents, such as licenses, insurance, and registration, are up to date and valid.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or traffic violations and cooperate with company and law enforcement authorities.
- Follow company policies and guidelines on vehicle use.
- Stay updated on local traffic and road conditions that may affect transportation schedules.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid driver’s license Class 2 with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a driver in a hospitality, tourism, or safari setting.
- Knowledge of Hwange roads, and surrounding wildlife areas.
- Professional, courteous, and guest-focused demeanor.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (additional local languages are a plus).
- Physically fit and willing to assist with manual tasks when needed.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in remote environments
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and early mornings.
