Packaging Manager (Milling Environment)
Do you love structure, efficiency, and keeping production running like a well-oiled machine? We’re looking for a Packaging Manager who can take ownership of packaging operations, ensure continuous supply of materials, drive quality standards, and lead a team with confidence.

What you’ll be responsible for:
Packaging Material & Supplier Management
- Source quality packaging material at the best possible prices to support profitability
- Ensure continuous supply of packaging material to production (prevent delays and losses)
- Plan and manage daily packaging material purchases and procurement
- Monitor stock levels and ensure correct quantities are available at all times
- Coordinate packaging logistics to support production and distribution
Planning & Scheduling
- Plan and schedule packaging processes and machine operations daily
- Align packaging output with sales and production schedules
- Ensure packaging runs efficiently and meets required timelines
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with OHS standards and procedures
- Ensure ongoing compliance with quality control policies and legislation
- Ensure packaging and final product quality meet internal mill standards
People & Performance
- Support and coordinate daily HR-related activities within the department
- Set clear goals for the team and drive performance
- Hold people accountable for results and deadlines
- Create momentum and ensure the team delivers consistently
Continuous Improvement
- Drive “brilliant basics” and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
- Act as an enabler — removing obstacles and keeping production moving
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF 4
- Qualification in Production / Operational Management (advantage)
- Proficiency in MS Office
- 3–5 years experience within a milling environment
- Proven knowledge of quality controls and mill processes

- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
