AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION MANAGER

Bergendal-Maneberg, a well-established mixed farming business located in the scenic Citrusdal area, has an exciting opportunity for an Agricultural Production Manager with strong technical agricultural knowledge and excellent people skills to join their team.

The successful candidate will be involved with the production of citrus, wine grapes, rooibos tea, stone fruit and livestock.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Production Operations: Planning, implementing, monitoring and supervising agricultural processes, including irrigation and production to ensure productivity and quality.

• Technical Management: Planning, implementing and monitoring agricultural programmes for crop health and crop protection; Ensuring optimal utilization of farm equipment.

• People Management: Monitoring and supervising employees; identifying potential and providing necessary training.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Agriculture;

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position, including in a supervisory or management capacity;

• Strong technical knowledge of fruit crops and agricultural processes;

• Excellent interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English);

• Good computer literacy (MS Office);

• Valid driver's license.

Bergendal-Maneberg, 'n gevestigde gemengde boerderybesigheid geleë in die skilderagtige Citrusdal-gebied, het 'n opwindende geleentheid vir 'n Landbou Produksie Bestuurder met sterk tegniese landboukennis en uitstekende mensevaardighede om deel van hul span te word.

Die suksesvolle kandidaat sal betrokke wees met die produksie van sitrus, wyndruiwe, rooibostee, steenvrugte en lewende hawe.

Verantwoordelikhede sal onder andere insluit:

• Produksie Bedrywighede: Beplanning, implementering, monitering en toesighouding van landbouprosesse, insluitend besproeiing en produksie om produktiwiteit en kwaliteit te verseker.

• Tegniese Bestuur: Beplanning, implementering en monitering van landbouprogramme vir gewasgesondheid en gewasbeskerming; Verseker dat plaastoerusting optimaal benut word.

• Span Bestuur: Monitering en toesighouding oor werknemers; identifisering van potensiaal en verskaf nodige opleiding.

Noodsaaklike ervaring, vaardighede, en kwalifikasies:

• Tersiêre kwalifikasie in Landbou;

• Minstens 2 jaar ondervinding in ’n soortgelyke posisie, insluitend in ’n toesighoudende of bestuurskapasiteit;

• Sterk tegniese kennis van vrugtegewasse en landbouprosesse;

• Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede (Afrikaans & Engels);

• Goeie rekenaargeletterdheid (MS Office);

• Geldige rybewys.
