Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to perform brake testing on trackless mobile mining equipment in accordance with legislative, safety, and specification requirements. The role also supports mechanical repairs, fitment of safety systems, diagnostics, and compliance activities to ensure that all equipment operated on mine premises is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Brake Testing & Compliance

• Perform brake testing on a variety of trackless mining equipment in line with legislative, mine, and OEM specifications.
• Ensure all brake testing is accurately conducted, verified, and documented for audit and compliance purposes.
• Interpret and apply compliance requirements including mine standards, risk assessments, and safety specifications.

Mechanical & Technical Work

• Conduct mechanical repairs, servicing, and maintenance on vehicles and trackless mobile machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems as required.
• Perform fitment of safety systems, accessories, and mechanical components.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and confirm effective repairs.

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete accurate service reports, brake test records, and job documentation.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed in line with company and client requirements.
• Support audits and inspections by providing technical documentation when required.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with engineering, compliance, and operations teams to ensure equipment meets required standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and site personnel when required.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to internal stakeholders and customers.

Safety & Quality

• Adhere strictly to safety, health, and environmental standards at all times.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company procedures and mine site rules.
