My client is looking for a part-time Gardener to service on a once/twice weekly basis, their communual gardens (as well as some of the ground units) in a complex (Linden - Randburg based) with 24 - 25 units.

Overview

The gardener will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the complex’s outdoor communal areas.

This includes gardening, grounds maintenance, and basic upkeep duties to ensure a neat, safe, and pleasant environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns – mowing, edging, watering, and fertilising as needed.
• Attend to flower beds – planting, pruning, weeding, and general care.
• Sweep and clean paved areas, pathways, parking areas, and communal spaces.
• Remove garden refuse and ensure correct disposal.
• Maintain shrubs, hedges, and trees (light pruning only).
• Monitor the condition of plants and report problems (pests, irrigation issues, etc.).
• Clean and maintain garden tools and equipment.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing or trimming back growth.
• Ensure all work areas are left safe, tidy, and hazard-free.
