A Senior Engineer: DevOps Platform builds and maintains cloud-native platforms that ensure application systems run seamlessly across multiple Kubernetes clusters and cloud providers. This role involves technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and driving innovation in platform engineering practices by ensuring planning, implementation, and operation of containerized infrastructure, multi-cloud management solutions, and GitOps-based deployment practices align with business strategy.

High-Level Job Objectives

1. Infrastructure Architecture & Multi-Cloud Management — Design and implement fault-tolerant, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure across multiple vendors and regions using infrastructure-as-code and automation

2. Kubernetes & Container Orchestration — Deploy, manage, and optimize multi-cluster Kubernetes environments, including advanced configuration, security hardening, and performance tuning

3. GitOps & Continuous Deployment — Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD for declarative, git-based infrastructure and application deployment

4. Cross-Cloud Platform Governance — Establish standards, policies, and best practices for cloud-agnostic platform management using tools like Rancher

5. Observability & Monitoring — Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions to ensure visibility across all platform components

6. Security & Compliance — Review and enhance security configurations across cloud environments, implement container security practices, and ensure compliance with organizational standards

7. Team Leadership & Knowledge Sharing — Mentor junior engineers, contribute to architecture planning, drive innovation initiatives, and facilitate knowledge transfer across teams

8. Incident Response & Reliability — Monitor, investigate, and mitigate service degradation issues with proactive incident response and post-mortem analysis

Core Skills

Essential Technical Skills

• Proven senior-level DevOps or platform engineering experience

• Firm grasp of Docker and container technologies

• Advanced Kubernetes expertise and cluster management

• ArgoCD or other GitOps tools implementation and management

• Rancher or similar multi-cluster management platforms

• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or VMware Cloud Services

• Experience with HashiCorp Nomad, Kubernetes, Mesos, or similar orchestration platforms

• Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Salt Stack)
