Daily Delivery and Collection Schedule Adherence

• Ensure all drivers report for duty at their scheduled times to prevent late departures and to avoid unnecessary early clock‑ins leading to overtime accumulation.
• Provide direct supervision to approximately 50 employees.
• Ensure full compliance with SOPs, company policies, and operational instructions.
• Promptly escalate all delays to the Transport Manager and the Sales Department.

Vehicle Inspections (Pre‑Trip, En‑Route, and Post‑Trip)

• Ensure drivers complete accurate pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, signed off by the controller on duty.
• Ensure the workshop is notified of any vehicle defects and that issues are addressed promptly.
• Conduct daily inspection checks together with drivers.

Vehicle Monitoring

• Continuously monitor vehicles in transit using the tracking system.
• Maintain consistent communication with drivers while they are on route.
• Immediately contact drivers regarding any route deviations or alerts received from the tracking system.

Knowledge & Skills

• Matric (Umalusi) or equivalent qualification is compulsory.
• SP2 NOM is essential.
• Minimum of 3 years’ previous supervisory experience, preferably within a logistics or transport environment.
• Strong analytical skills with sound mathematical ability.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of the C‑Track tracking system and other logistics-related software.
• Knowledge of Sparrow.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal departments.
• A Logistics/Transport qualification and a Code 14 driver’s licence with PrDP will be advantageous.
