An excellent career opportunity for a motivated individual exists in the Engineering department for a Despatch Supervisor, reporting directly to the General Manager based at Epping Plant.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the accurate and timeous billing of all despatched goods through invoicing, generating of credit notes, pallet credits and cash sales. This is done to ensure that all goods that are despatch adhere to client specifications in order to ensure client satisfaction as well as minimising the risk of unnecessary revenue loss.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timeous invoicing of client purchases
- Prompt Loading of Trucks and Truck Utilization
- Overseeing Customer Returns and liaising with Sales and Finance departments
- Timeous filing of documentation and regular stock taking for reporting
- purposes.
- Ensuring stock storage adheres to the relevant safety regulations
- Participate in FG Stocktake and ensure all stock or pallets are scanned
- Pro-active planning, organising and control of resources (manpower,
- machinery and raw materials).
- Managing deviations from scheduled plan to ensure plant efficiency in terms
- of quality, cost and on-time-in-full delivery.
- Ensure all safety requirements are met and wearing correct PPE.
- Maintain a neat and clean working environment in despatch area.
- Managing day-to-day issues
- Manage performance of employees by contracting and measuring
- performance scorecards.
- Providing feedback as well as closing the performance gaps (e.g. training,
- coaching, providing tools and disciplinary actions) to improve performance.
The ideal candidate should:
- Have a National Senior Certificate: Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy
- Have a Certificate: Management Development/Logistics
- Have 3-5 years relevant experience in a Warehousing and Distribution
- environment
- Have 3-5 years People Management experience in a supervisory role
- Have literacy and numerical skills
- Problem solving & root cause analysis skills are important
The ideal candidate should:
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating skills are important
- Be able to manage and handle conflict situations
- Be able to think critically and analytically
