AVI Field Marketing is a shared services business unit within AVI. Field Marketing focuses on sales and merchandising for the beverages, snacking and cosmetic business units to provide greater focus and to achieve an improved execution at store level.
The successful applicant will be required to perform a staff management function and a sales and merchandising function in the Inland North Region (Pretoria, Limpopo & Northern parts of Northwest). The applicant will be responsible for the wholesale outlets within the region. Your passion for sales coupled with a solid sales and merchandising experience in a FMCG environment may provide the key to success in ensuring the Business Units targets and service levels are achieved
Reporting Structure:
- Line Manager: Regional Operations Manager
- Number of Direct Reports: +/- 55 which includes 5 Wholesale Account Representatives
Key Areas of Impact:
- Manage and grow relationship between customer and supplier
- Manage BU / Business Units discount budgets and profitability targets
- Manage Margins
- Manage customer spend
- Manage RSP’s
- Monthly store performance reviews with customer
- Monthly store performance reviews with region, construct corrective plans, manage and monitor
- Execute Business Units / BU strategy
- Manage Promotional Grid
- Manage execution of promotional plan
- Achieve sales targets
- Manage effective ordering process between customer, BU’s, AVI Region and Call Centre
- Maximise distribution through effective buying and working closely with Planning and LSS
- Manage strategic stock levels
- Manage day to day stock cover
- Manage store specific strategies, sales through and underperforming stores via sales team
- Ranging
- New Listings
- Manage shelf health in line with AVI FM and BU objectives
WHOLESALE INLAND NORTH REGION
- Achieve BU sales targets
- Manage effective ordering process between customer, BU’s, AVI Region, Call Centre and LSS
- Maximise distribution through effective buying and working closely with Planning and LSS
- Manage and mentor Wholesale Account Representatives and Field Marketers / Merchandisers responsible for all the Wholesale Outlets in the region including monthly payroll submissions for Field staff.
- Manage BU objectives and strategies within Wholesale
- Manage and execute wholesale promotional plans
- Manage RSP’s on shelf
- Monthly store performance reviews with customer
- Monthly store performance reviews with region, construct corrective plans, manage and monitor
- Mange shelf health in line with BU and AVI FM objectives
- Manage strategic stock levels
- Manage day to day stock cover
- Manage store specific strategies, sales through and underperforming stores via sales team
- Execute NPD strategy
- Cross regional working required in order to deliver implementation of BU strategies
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years sales management experience in an FMCG environment
Qualifications:
- Completed Matric
- A completed tertiary qualification (Business/Sales/Marketing) advantageous
Additional Requirements:
- Good interpersonal and people management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Driver's license required
- Ability to travel within the region essential
- IT (Technology) skills on an advanced level
