The Supply Chain Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for managing and optimising the end-to-end supply chain across an integrated poultry business. This includes oversight of production planning, logistics, and depot and distribution operations. The role ensures that all products — from live birds and eggs to processed goods — are planned, transported, stored, and delivered efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
The position plays a critical role in aligning supply chain operations with production output, sales demand, and customer delivery expectations while driving operational excellence, cost control, and service reliability.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service levels, traceability, and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with production, farming, and sales teams to align supply chain capability with business demand.
Production Planning Oversight
Oversee production planning teams to ensure accurate, forward-looking plans for eggs, birds, feed, and processed products.
Balance production capacity with market demand, inventory holding, and delivery requirements.
Ensure alignment between farming operations, processing schedules, and logistics capacity.
Logistics Management
Lead logistics operations responsible for inbound and outbound movement of birds, eggs, feed, and finished goods.
Manage company-owned and contracted fleet performance, including route optimisation, scheduling, and compliance with WHS and biosecurity requirements.
Implement and monitor vehicle tracking, cold chain integrity, and delivery performance metrics.
Depot & Distribution Operations
Oversee distribution depots and warehouses to ensure efficient storage, handling, and dispatch of products.
Manage inventory control, order accuracy, FIFO/FEFO stock rotation, and full product traceability.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cold chain standards across all sites.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all transport, storage, and distribution activities comply with regulatory, food safety, and animal welfare requirements.
Develop and manage contingency plans for high-risk areas such as live bird transport and cold chain failures.
Lead and support internal and external audits related to logistics and distribution.
People & Performance Leadership
Lead, develop, and mentor managers and supervisors across planning, logistics, and depot teams.
Set departmental KPIs, monitor performance, and drive accountability.
Foster a collaborative, safety-first culture with strong operational discipline.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Develop and manage budgets for logistics, distribution, and warehousing operations.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in transport, inventory management, and warehousing.
