Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Johannesburg - CBD

Position Summary:

To lead the budget preparation and collation process, develop, analyse and distribute financial reports, prepare and submit financial statutory returns and coordinate and support the financial audit functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Budget Development

• Lead the preparation, collation, and monitoring of budgets across all entities.
• Assist in financial planning, budget forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure full compliance with government regulations and internal financial policies.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions to support budgeting activities.

Financial Reporting

• Compile and analyze financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate the development of annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Statutory Submissions

• Prepare and submit statutory financial returns within prescribed timelines.
• Respond to and resolve queries related to statutory filings.

Audit Support

• Prepare and maintain accurate audit files by compiling necessary supporting documentation.
• Serve as a key liaison with internal and external audit teams during audit processes.

Staff Management

• Assist with recruitment and onboarding of finance team staff.
• Support performance management initiatives within the finance team.
• Monitor and ensure the effective implementation of HR and organizational policies
  

Minimum qualifications & experience required:

• NQF Level 7 qualification in Financial Accounting or a related field (e.g., BCom Accounting).
• 3 – 5 years experience in financial accounting is required

• Strong understanding of budgeting and financial reporting principles.
• Knowledge of regulatory and statutory compliance requirements.
• High attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
