- Container Tracking & Documentation: Record and verify container numbers, seal numbers, types, and statuses (empty/full) for all incoming and outgoing units.
- Physical Inspections: Inspect containers for damages (e.g., holes, dents, broken doors) and report findings to management, including taking photographs as necessary.
- Gate/Yard Operations: Process Equipment Interchange Reports (EIR) for truck drivers, ensuring proper documentation for gate-in and gate-out movements.
- System Updates: Input container movements, locations, and damage reports into the Terminal Operating System (TOS) in real-time.
- Stock Management: Ensure containers are loaded/unloaded in accordance with FIFO (First In/First Out) procedures.
- Staging & Safety Compliance: Ensure containers are stacked safely and correctly, segregating damaged containers into designated areas.
- Maintenance Support: Monitor container cleaning (washbay) or reefer (refrigerated container) pre-trips.
- General Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working area in the yard.

An integrated shipping and logistics company is seeking to hire Office Field Workers, specifically Container Yard (CY) Office Field Workers, also known as Yard Clerks, Tally Clerks, or Yard Operatives, to join our Operations Team. This role is pivotal in managing the efficiency of container cargo handling and storage at our Container Storage Hub, ensuring a seamless flow of goods within the shipping ecosystem.
Position Summary:
A Container Yard (CY) Office Field Worker is tasked with bridging the gap between digital terminal operating systems and physical yard activities. The role involves inspecting, recording, and managing the movement of shipping containers and cargo, all while ensuring accuracy, security, and safety.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: A matriculation qualification is essential.
- Transportation: Candidates must have their own means of transportation to commute to work, with a personal vehicle highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, container terminal operations, or as a forklift operator is often advantageous.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with TOS (Terminal Operating Systems) or inventory tracking software.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors, stand/walk for extended periods, climb on top of containers, and lift heavy items.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in recording data, such as container numbers and damage reports.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for liaising with truck drivers, crane operators, and management.
- Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet vessel turnaround targets.
Working Environment:
- Exposure to Elements: The role is primarily outdoors and requires working in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
