The Chrysalis Academy is a non-profit organisation based in Tokai (Cape Town) offering a three-month residential youth development programme for youth of the Western Cape. The programme is holistic and trauma-responsive. It is based on discipline, structure, order and routine.
Chrysalis Academy, a smoke, drug and alcohol-free organisation seeks an energetic and highly motivated Individual for its position of Driver/Maintenance Assistant
Purpose:
● Responsible for safely transporting passengers or goods to their destinations, ensuring timely collections or deliveries, and maintaining vehicle condition.
● Provide general building maintenance on the Porter Estate.
Requirements:
● A valid matric certificate or equivalent.
● A valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with PDP.
● A certificate in Plumbing, Waterproofing, Painting, Glazing, Electrical or Carpentry will be advantageous.
● Minimum of 3 years’ relevant and appropriate driving and building maintenance experience.
● Fluent in at least 2 South African languages.
● Well-grounded, non-smoker and of sober habits.
Required Skills
- Driving Skills: 3 to 4 years
- Maintenance Skill: 2 to 3 years
Candidate Requirements

● Ability to read maps, ability to use GPS, and motor fault-finding.
● Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment.
● Health and Safety conscious.
● Punctual.
● Planning and scheduling skills.
● Attention to detail.
● Good time management skills and work ethics.
Key performance areas:
● Safely transport staff, students or guests to their destinations.
● Delivering and collecting documents or parcels in and around Cape Town.
● Maintain Driver log and trip sheets.
● Ensure the cleanliness of vehicles.
● Assist with general maintenance like plumbing, building, painting, glazing, and electrical, carpentry.
● Assist with ensuring that the Chrysalis Academy’s buildings and grounds/ gardens are kept in an excellent condition.
● Assist in treating and maintaining the swimming pool.
● Assist with clearing blocked drains, toilets and urinals.
● Assist with any other task that may be required (e.g. assisting the grounds team with grass cutting).
