Castle Lead Works manufacturers a wide range of lead products. The vacancy is at the manufacturing plant situated in Krugersdorp. The company is seeking to recuit a qualified, competent Occupational Health Nurse / Sister to manage the on site Occupational Health Clinic. Proven experience with regards occupational health is non negotiable.
Clinic operating hours: Monday (07h00 - 16h00), Tuesday (07h00 - 13h00) and Thursday (07h00 - 13h00). The successful candidate will work an average of 83 hours for the month.
Key Functions:
a) Primary health care and chronic disease management for staff (less than 50 employees).
b) Pre-employment medical screening of new recruitments and exit medical examinations for exiting employees.
c) Facilitate blood lead sampling every two months for employees exposed to lead. Maintain records for comparison and reference.
c) Control of clinic inventory (medicines, equipment, testing strips) etc. Ensure sufficient stock at all times to carry out duties without delays due to "no stock". Follow procurement processes to replenish stock.
d) Participate in accident investigations and Health & Safety meetings.
e) Facilitate referrals to the Occupational Medical Practitioner or external health care providers, when the need arises.
f) Maintain first aid boxes in terms of Health & Safety legislation in conjunction with appointed First Aiders.
g) Facilitate Wellness education / awareness.
h) Facilitate audiometric testing as per legislative requirement.

Candidate Requirements
Education:
Grade 12 or equivalent plus Diploma in Occupational Health, Registered Nurse with SA Nursing Council, Dispensing License for Health Care Professionals, Audiometry Certificate. (Non negotiable certifications)
Experience:
At lease 5 years in a Manufacturing environment as an Occupational Health Nurse. Knowledge of lead and its risk would be advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to capture staff records / information for record keeping. Ability to communicate via email with internal and external stake holders.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
