Our client, a fast-growing technology platform in the emergency response sector, is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join their team. This role can be based in Johannesburg, Pretoria (Hybrid one day/week), or fully Remote for exceptional candidates. The platform connects users to vetted security and medical response teams, delivering life-saving services globally.

Role Overview

•       Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end features for the platform

•       Architect scalable backend systems and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript

•       Collaborate with product teams to build intuitive and performant user interfaces

•       Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best practices and high-quality code

•       Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues proactively

Technical Stack

•       Core: Node.js, React, React Native, TypeScript / JavaScript

•       Frontend Tooling: Vite, Storybook.js

•       DevOps: AWS CodePipeline, CodeMagic, GitHub Actions

•       Cloud: AWS (ECS, Lambda, Aurora, SQS, CloudFront)

•       Persistence: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, Snowflake

Skills & Experience

•       5+ years’ experience as a Fullstack Engineer

•       Proven expertise in scalable backend systems and API integrations

•       Strong frontend development skills for high-performance user interfaces

•       Experience with database design and optimization, especially PostgreSQL

•       Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

•       Mentorship experience and ability to foster team collaboration

•       Track record of delivering high-quality, bug-free code
