Job specification:

• Grade 10,11,12 or equivalent NQF4 qualifications
• Valid blasting/rock-breaking certificate for Metalliferous mine and Shift Supervisor Certificate
• Conventional development, Trackless, Decline blasting experience, and Hydropower drilling experience in trackless mining
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Trackless mining
• Proficiency in English and any of the 11 official languages
• Have the ability and skills to coach, guide, and transfer knowledge
• Computer literacy will be advantageous
• Must be a South African citizen
• Valid Driver’s License & own transport
• Clear Criminal Record

Responsibilities

• Work shifts
• The candidate must have a sound knowledge of trackless mining
• Ability to plan, organize, control, and supervise the work of subordinates on trackless and in development
• Ensure safe and quality underground operations to achieve daily production targets
• Play a key role in taking charge of trackless and development blasting/rock breaking operations within the designated area of responsibility to ensure the delivery of set targets
• Responsibilities and functions include, but are not limited to, ensuring that all teams adhere and comply with HSE standards, procedures, and policies to ensure successful production
• Perform all related mining duties as may be advised from time to time by the section mine overseer.
