Our client is seeking a highly organized and professional Legal Assistant to provide direct support to the Legal Executive / General Legal Counsel. This role is suited to a candidate with a solid understanding of legal processes, strong administrative capability, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and precision.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing legal workflows, coordinating communication, and supporting legal documentation, research, and project administration within a fast-paced and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Support & Operations:
Assist with the preparation, formatting, and organization of legal documents, correspondence, and presentations while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Conduct basic legal research and gather information to support internal and external legal counsel.
Maintain accurate legal files, databases, and document management systems in line with internal standards.
Track deadlines, filings, and compliance deliverables for ongoing legal matters.
Administrative & Executive Support:
Manage the Legal Executive’s calendar, meetings, and appointments, including internal committees and external stakeholder engagements.
Act as a key liaison between internal departments, external legal advisors, regulatory bodies, and business partners.
Draft, proofread, and distribute internal communications, meeting minutes, briefs, and reports.
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement:
Support legal projects and initiatives by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Monitor progress and follow up on action items to ensure timely delivery.
Assist in coordinating internal training sessions, workshops, and compliance briefings.
Requirements
Degree in Legal Studies and/or Paralegal-related qualification and experience.
Previous experience supporting senior legal counsel within a law firm or corporate legal department is advantageous.
Familiarity with legal research tools and compliance frameworks.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of legal terminology, documentation, and legal processes.
Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Advanced organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional demeanor with the ability to engage confidently with senior leadership and external legal parties.

Regs- en Operasionele Ondersteuning:
Ondersteun met die voorbereiding, opstel, en organisering van regsdokumente, korrespondensie en aanbiedings met streng aandag aan detail en vertroulikheid.
Doen basiese regsnavorsing en versamel relevante inligting ter ondersteuning van interne en eksterne regsadviseurs.
Hou regslêers, databasisse en dokumentbestuurstelsels akkuraat en op datum volgens interne standaarde.
Monitor sperdatums, indienings en voldoeningsvereistes vir lopende regsake.
Administratiewe en Uitvoerende Ondersteuning:
Bestuur die Regsuitvoerende Beampte se kalender, vergaderings en afsprake, insluitend interne komitees en eksterne belanghebbendes.
Tree op as ’n primêre skakel tussen interne departemente, eksterne regsverteenwoordigers, regulatoriese liggame en sakevennote.
Stel interne kommunikasie, notules, verslae en opsommings op en versprei dit waar nodig.
Projekkoördinering en Belanghebberbestuur:
Ondersteun regsprojekte en -inisiatiewe deur samewerking met kruisfunksionele spanne.
Volg op met aksie-items en monitor vordering teen vasgestelde tydlyne.
Help met die organisering van interne opleiding, werkswinkels en nakomingsinligtingsessies.
Posvereistes
Graad in Regstudies en/of Paralegal-verwante kwalifikasie en ervaring.
Vorige ervaring in die ondersteuning van senior regsadviseurs binne ’n regsfirma of korporatiewe regsafdeling sal voordelig wees.
Bekendheid met regsnavorsingshulpmiddels en nakomingsraamwerke.
Vaardighede en Bevoegdhede
Sterk begrip van regsterminologie, dokumenthantering en regsprosesse.
Uitstekende aandag aan detail en hoë vlakke van akkuraatheid.
Gevorderde organisatoriese en tydsbestuursvaardighede met die vermoë om veelvuldige prioriteite te hanteer.
Vaardig in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) en dokumentbestuurstelsels.
Vermoë om sensitiewe en vertroulike inligting professioneel te hanteer.
