MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.
• Code 10 (C1) Driver’s Licence.
• Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

• 1 year practical driving/delivery experience.
• Advantageous: 3 months practical Forklift driving experience.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• Ensure transportation of people and goods whilst adhering to safety requirements.
• Conduct pre-use inspection of vehicle to ensure that vehicle is in safe workable condition using prescribed checklist. Check for water-, oil-, and fuel levels, air pressure, electrical components, hydraulic function, brakes, controls and general condition for functionality and safety, and record in the inspection pre-use inspection checklist. Defects are reported immediately to the supervisor. Fluid levels are maintained as specified by the manufacturer's standards.
• Ensure vehicle license is valid. Ensure valid driver’s license / PDP is always in his/her possession.
• Operate applicable vehicle according to process procedure and method within specified limits of mechanical ability to maximize work life. Adhere to all safety regulations, processes and operating procedures. Clean vehicle after use according to prescribed process, procedure. Report any defects or minor/major accidents immediately to direct supervisor during or after use.
• Goods: Collect, load, secure and off-load all goods according to product specification / authorized request. Ensure that relevant documentation accompanies all goods collected / delivered, relevant documentation is signed off by sender and receiver.
• People: Collect and safely transport people as requested. Ensure people adhere to road safety rules and regulations.
• Perform ad-hoc duties falling within scope of job when required.
