Reporting to the Finance Executive
Job Function:
Overseeing the company's technology operations, managing staff, infrastructure (networks, servers, software, hardware) and IT projects to align technology with business goals, ensuring security, efficiency, and smooth system function through strategy, implementation, troubleshooting, budgeting, and policy development. Key duties include leading IT teams, planning upgrades, managing security, maintaining infrastructure, and collaborating across departments to implement new tech solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
Oversee servers, networks, operating systems, software and hardware
Team Leadership:
Train, mentor and manage IT staff, setting goals and evaluating performance. Identify opportunities for technology-driven process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, incorporating them into the divisional IT strategy where applicable
Daily Operation:
Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights and active directory administration. Assist with month-end processing and be able to work after hours in case of system upgrades and maintenance.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement IT strategies, policies and procedures, including security protocols and disaster recovery plans. Work closely with divisional management and Group IT to ensure business needs are met with appropriate technology solutions.
Project Management:
Lead IT projects, from system upgrades and migrations to new implementations, managing timelines and budgets. Oversee rollout of new systems and upgrades to ensure minimal disruption of business operations. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with business needs and objectives. Provide job-specific (customized) training for end-users. Assess and implement changes where processes are not in line with expected business practices.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure data security, network access, and implement backup systems. Maintain daily tape backups and offsite backup storage, ensuring data is stored securely. Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect the division's IT environment from threats. Maintain software and hardware registers and ensure full compliance as per company policies with regular audits on all PCs and laptops as well as monitoring internet and email usage
Budgeting:
Prepare and manage the IT budget and ensure cost-effective technology investment. Develop and implement divisional IT strategy aligned with the group IT roadmap.
Vendor and Stakeholder Relations:
Liaise with vendors and collaborate with other departments to identify and implement technology solutions. Manage IT asset inventories, licensing and contract. Collaborate with third-party vendors, ensuring that service level agreements are met and review vendor performance. Negotiate contracts for IT services, software and hardware, ensuring best value for the division. Strong procurement knowledge required with regards to purchasing IT equipment (hardware and software).

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:Matric
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related, along with relevant experience
SYSPRO 8 Administration certification
Experience & Skills:
5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in management or leadership capacity.
Strong analytical problem-solving, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Expertise in managing various IT platforms, Syspro, networks, hardware, software and cloud technologies
Microsoft SQL Server (including SSRS, creating SQL Views)
Basic Syspro customization (SRS and ODBC Reports)
Implementation of BI solutions
Networking and active directory experience is essential with knowledge of virtual servers
MS Office 365 and MS Office experience is essential
Motoman knowledge will be an advantage
Familiarity with IT governance, compliance, and legal frameworks
Experience with IT security management and disaster recovery planning
Strong leadership, project management capabilities
Familiarity with new technologies and industry trends
Excellent communication skills
Interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
Goal and timeline drive
Willingness to learn and to seek continual improvement within areas of responsibility
Ability to work under pressure
Motivated and enthusiastic
Out of office travel will be required to oversee other branches
