INTRODUCTION
Komatsu South Africa has an opportunity for an Aftermarket Specialist: Dump Truck Bodies with knowledge and experience in welding and steel fabrication, opencast mining and experience working with suppliers to join the CI & Aftermarket Department at Komatsu Head Office,Germiston. If you hold a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Mining Engineering, have 4–6 years of hands-on experience, and possess specialised knowledge in undercarriage systems, filters, oil, and lubricants, we want to hear from you. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
- Plans for inspection of equipment regarding dates, workshops, nomination of service, stock and other resources.
- Conducts delivery inspection of Dump Truck Bodies & liaises with customer on results of inspection, hands over warranties, signs relevant documentation.
- Carries out Dump Truck Body inspections at set frequencies as agreed with the customer.
- Verifies and checks documentation – warranties, manuals, registration forms, etc. and hands these to customer.
- Files copies of warranty documents & establishes trend data from dump truck body inspections.
- Completes the Dump Truck Body Delivery Inspection reports and warranty certificates.
- Oversees warranty repairs that may be required at the site.
- Drives after-market sales orders through effective technical advice.
- Resolve technical issues through communication with OEM and manufacturer.
- Remains up to date with Safety procedures.
- Fosters good working relationships with suppliers.
- Generates standard reports on contractual agreements & SLA’s.

- Customer Liaison: 4 to 5 years
- Sap: 4 to 5 years
- Ms Office: 4 to 5 years
Candidate Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Mining Engineering (NQF 7)
EXPERIENCE:
- 4 – 6 years’ experience
- Proven technical track record in Komatsu Products
- Proven strength in customer service/liaison
- Experience working with suppliers
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License,
- Occupational Health & Safety Act
- MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook (Intermediate to advanced)
- SAP Quoting – Advanced
- SAP MMBE (Parts) & SAP WIP- Intermediate
- CSS Portal, Komtrax- Advanced
