Job Purpose:

Our Client is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Receiving Clerk to manage the receiving and checking of all incoming stock at their Fruit & Veg store in East London. The ideal candidate should be experienced in handling fresh produce, able to work under pressure, and ensure that all deliveries are accurate, on time, and meet our quality standards. This role is key to ensuring the smooth flow of stock into the store.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive all incoming deliveries and check against supplier invoices or delivery notes
• Inspect produce for quality, freshness, and correct quantities
• Record all deliveries accurately and report any short deliveries, overages, or damages
• Communicate any stock discrepancies or issues to management
• Label and sort stock correctly for transfer to storage or the shop floor
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized receiving area
• Work closely with the procurement and floor teams to ensure proper stock flow
• Follow all health and safety guidelines related to stock handling
• Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) principles are applied during receiving
• Assist with basic stock counts or inventory checks when required
