Our client is seeking an energetic, reliable, and experienced Deli & Fast Food Assistant to play a vital role within a busy supermarket deli environment. This position is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, excellent organization, and hands-on experience in a fast-paced food operation.

Working Hours: Shift work (Retail hours) – Sundays and public holidays closed

Key Responsibilities:

• Deli & Fast Food Operations:

  • Preparation and serving of items such as salads, platters, sandwiches, fish, and burgers

  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation

  • Manage product changes between lunch and dinner service

• Food Safety & Quality Control:

  • Monitor and record food temperatures throughout the day

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards

  • Confirm that all preparation work is completed correctly and on time

• Orders & Stock Control:

  • Take and follow up on orders

  • Conduct stock control, stock takes, and cost calculations

  • Manage preparation levels and product availability

• Team Supervision:

  • Supervise up to 30 staff members

  • Maintain discipline, standards, and teamwork

• Administration & Systems:

  • Computer literate; experience with Arch or similar systems is advantageous

  • Read and understand recipes and procedures

  • Perform basic administrative and record-keeping tasks

• Customer Service:

  • Professional customer interaction and client liaison

  • Excellent telephone etiquette

  • Customer satisfaction as a top priority

Job Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a retail/deli or fast food environment

• Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

• Computer literate
  

• Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)

Hoof Verantwoordelikhede:

• Deli- en Kitskos-bedrywighede:

  • Voorbereiding en bediening van items soos slaaie, platters, toebroodjies, visgeregte en burgers

  • Verseker konsekwente voedselgehalte en aanbieding

  • Oorskakeling van produkte tussen middag- en aandbediening

• Voedselveiligheid & Kwaliteitbeheer:

  • Monitering en dokumentering van voedseltemperature deur die dag

  • Nakoming van voedselveiligheid- en higiënestandaarde

  • Verseker dat alle voorbereidingswerk korrek en betyds gedoen word

• Bestellings & Voorraadbeheer:

  • Neem en opvolg van bestellings

  • Voorraadbeheer, voorraadopnames en koste-berekeninge

  • Beheer van voorbereiding en beskikbaarheid van produkte

• Spanbestuur & Toesig:

  • Toesig oor tot 30 personeel

  • Handhawing van dissipline, standaarde en spanwerk

• Administrasie & Stelsels:

  • Rekenaarvaardig; ervaring met Arch of soortgelyke stelsels is voordelig

  • Lees en verstaan van resepte en prosedures

  • Basiese administratiewe take en rekordhouding

• Kliëntediens:

  • Professionele kliënte-interaksie en kliënteskakeling

  • Uitstekende telefoonetiket

  • Klantetevredenheid as topprioriteit

Posvereistes:

• Matriek (Graad 12)

• Minimum 3 jaar ervaring in ’n kleinhandel/deli of kitskos omgewing (bv. supermark-deli)

• Goeie kennis van voedselveiligheid en higiëne

• Rekenaarvaardig
  

• Afrikaans en Engels (lees, skryf en praat)
