MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

• Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
• Advantageous: 6 months practical TMM experience.
• Advantageous: 6 months practical Mining/Engineering experience (depending on department appointed in).

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• Operate the vehicle assigned to him/her in a safe manner in order to load, transport and offloading of blasted material without damage to the vehicle. The incumbent will be responsible for operating the machinery allocated to him/her in such a way that material is supplied safely and within time without damage to the machinery. Responsible for all activities under his/her control regarding safety. Ensuring that all Codes of Practice and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
• Operate the mining equipment to achieve production requirements. Operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery. Continuously observe/monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance/non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor.
• Report breakdowns / damages timeously to the Miner and control room operator.
• Take care of assigned vehicle. Filling and levelling of roadways.
• Ensure safe and timeous loading, transporting and off-loading of blasted material and parking of vehicle according to Standard Operating Procedure.
• Identify loose rocks, request assistance and bar down the rock.
