Role Overview
The Relationship Manager / Sales Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing business-to-business relationships with farmers, with a strong focus on the agricultural inputs division. This includes the sale of seeds, fertilisers, crop nutrition, crop protection products, and packaging materials.
The role operates within an integrated agribusiness ecosystem where farmers both sell produce to the company and purchase agricultural inputs through the same platform. The incumbent will need to understand and manage farmer account balances, ensuring sustainable trading relationships while driving sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with farming clients
- Sell agricultural inputs including seeds, fertilisers, crop nutrition, crop protection, and packaging
- Manage farmer accounts, including balances, credit exposure, and trading cycles
- Drive business-to-business sales growth within the assigned region
- Provide professional advisory support to farmers based on their production needs
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the existing client base
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of sales and account processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies and commercial guidelines
Required Skills
- Sales: 2 to 3 years
- Agriculture: 3 to 4 years
- Business-To-Business (B2b) Contact : 2 to 3 years
Candidate Requirements
- Matric qualification (required)
- Valid driver’s licence (required)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Sales / Relationship or Key Accounts Manager
- Proven experience in business-to-business sales
- Strong agricultural background with hands-on farming or agribusiness experience
- Solid understanding of agricultural inputs and farming operations
- Ability to manage complex customer accounts and trading relationships
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel extensively
