Warehouse Operations Manager – KraaifonteinFood Manufacturing | Warehouse & DistributionFull-time | On-siteOur client is a well-established food manufacturing company based in Kraaifontein, supplying caterers, bakers, and food industry professionals nationwide. With a strong focus on operational excellence, efficiency, and quality, the business is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to take full ownership of warehouse, dispatch, and distribution operations.This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and cost-effective warehouse operations across receiving, storage (dry and cold), picking, dispatch, and returns. The role requires strong leadership, operational discipline, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and returns
Lead, manage, and develop warehouse teams, team leaders, drivers, and support staff
Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and cost control across all warehouse activities
Ensure accurate stock control, FIFO principles, and regular stock counts and stock takes
Oversee dispatch, route planning, loading, and delivery coordination
Ensure compliance with SOPs, food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and company policies
Monitor performance metrics including order accuracy, turnaround times, backorders, and losses
Investigate stock variances, damages, and operational issues, implementing corrective actions
Manage vehicle operations including maintenance, licensing, cleanliness, and driver compliance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational changes where required
Ensure accurate reporting, record-keeping, and communication with management and internal departments

Requirements:

Proven experience in a Warehouse Operations Manager or similar senior warehouse leadership role
Strong background in food manufacturing, FMCG, or high-volume distribution environments
Solid understanding of stock control, dispatch, route planning, and warehouse systems
Strong people management and leadership skills
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
