Our client, Apeiro AG based in Klapmuts, Western Cape, is eager to employ a Research Technician to join their team. This is an ideal role for someone with a passion for agricultural and research development, combined with prior knowledge or a suitable academic background to join this dynamic company.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable to work in a team and be able to interact with farmers, developers and other stakeholders in the Agricultural sector.

Duties include (but are not limited to): *Assisting with the design and execution of registration and demonstration trials alongside the Senior Technician *Assisting in designing and conducting field trials and experiments to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and performance of agricultural chemicals (e.g., pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers) *Setting up and maintaining test plots, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops as per trial protocols *Applying chemical treatments according to study guidelines and ensure accurate dosage and application *Recording and organising data accurately, ensuring it is ready for analysis *Assisting in analysing experimental data using statistical software and techniques, under the supervision of senior staff *Liaising with external partners, such as farmers, agronomists, and industry representatives, as needed.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• A tertiary qualification in agriculture will be advantageous;

• Willingness to complete the AVCASA course (undergo in-service training for a period of 2 years, with the possibility of promotion to a Senior Technician position);

• Familiarity with crop cultivation in the Western Cape and KZN regions will be beneficial;

• Good computer skills (MS Office);

• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English).
