Ivanplats is looking for a Banksman REF: IVP-ENG-2516

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
Onsetter or Banksman Certificate
Boiler making phase 1 certificate
IRCA Training for Construction Supervisors Certificate

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

3 Years’ experience in a similar role

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

Examining Safety devices
Shaft examinations
Housekeeping of shaft bank area
Safety of personnel in shaft bank area and in the shaft
Signaling Winding Engine Driver, Stage Operators, shaft bottom personnel
Examining telephones, lights and signaling devices
Hoisting of men and equipment
Hoisting of rock disposal
Record-keeping of Shaft logbook
Rigging and slinging of equipment
Report any anomalies and incidents to the shaft Foreman
