Job Overview
Our client, a well-established Commercial & Residential Property Development company, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team at their Stellenbosch offices. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial records, effective financial control, and compliance with statutory requirements across multiple business entities.
The successful candidate must reside in or around the Stellenbosch area and be able to work on-site.
Key Responsibilities
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

Maintain accurate financial records and assist with cash flow management

Perform monthly bank reconciliations
-
Complete VAT reconciliations and ensure timely submissions
-
Capture and process supplier invoices accurately
-
Set up and maintain new supplier accounts and records
-
Perform supplier reconciliations and ensure correct filing
-
Prepare and process supplier payments in accordance with company policies
-
Reconcile deposits from credit card transactions and delivery platforms (e.g. Mr D, Uber)
-
Prepare and post month-end journals, including stock control adjustments
-
Reconcile fixed assets and maintain depreciation schedules
-
Verify and reconcile cash-up reports and ensure proper documentation
-
Capture and reconcile sales invoices
-
Prepare sales split journals for accurate reporting

Attend to financial queries in a professional and timely manner

Manage motor vehicle licence renewals
-
Maintain and reconcile loan accounts
-
Prepare and maintain loan schedules, including interest calculations
-
Calculate commissions and prepare related invoices
-
Process and report on credit card transactions
Candidate Requirements
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Bookkeeping / finance / accounting qualification (advantageous)
-
Minimum of 3 years’ bookkeeping or accounting work experience
-
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, including accounts receivable and payable
-
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
-
Experience with MDA (advantageous)

Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport

Must live in or around the Stellenbosch area
