Our eCommerce Photography Studio is looking for a dedicated and passionate re-toucher to join our creative team. As a team, we operate at a fast pace & produce high quality content at scale in order to empower our teams to drive sales and brand awareness through multiple channels. This role will report to the eCommerce Studio Manager and the incumbent will be required to work in our in-house studio, based in Montague Gardens in Cape Town.

The primary focus of the role is to work collaboratively with the studio team, photographers & QA (Quality Assurance) to ensure we achieve the desired quality images in direct support of online sales, across all our brands. We are looking for an experienced re-toucher that is accustomed to handling high volumes of product images for eCommerce and/or print with a clear understanding of working in a non-destructive image workflow.

Key Duties

• Edit product photography for use across all Digital channels including color correction, removing backgrounds, clipping, cleaning up imperfections on products, and adding shadows or reflections as needed.
• Follow QA specifications and feedback to always ensure the highest quality of image and video deliverables.
• Maintain photo asset workflow standards including file naming conventions and file management.
• Operate at a fast and consistent work speed without jeopardizing quality.
• Prioritize multiple projects at a time.
• Collaborate with team members to create & execute ideas that take our brands to the next level.
• Actively engage in the creative process for post-production needs; work with all parties to achieve defined goals.
• Coordinate & communicate with internal & external stakeholders as needed to ensure that post-production runs smoothly according to the planned schedule.
• Foster positive workplace relationships and drive cross-functional cohesion and teamwork, both within the Photography Studio team as well as with other teams in the business.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with eCommerce photography retouching – ESSENTIAL
  • Background in Graphics Design, Visual Arts, and/or other related fields
  • Exposure to product photography and digital enhancements
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge & CaptureOne
  • Advanced skill in Photoshop selection, extraction, masking/clipping, tonal & colour manipulation techniques ESSENTIAL
  • A good knowledge of digital workflow from camera to post-production
  • Good understanding of photographic lighting qualities and how they affect products and surfaces, also how to enhance and/or manipulate lighting
  • Good working knowledge of relevant workflow management & monitoring systems (eg. JIRA or Monday.com)
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to resolve a variety of issues & queries
  • Portfolio that demonstrates a good level of ability in product & commercial photography.
