- Installing new AC units, chillers, and associated ductwork, reading blueprints, and ensuring correct electrical wiring.
- Performing scheduled preventative maintenance, cleaning, calibrating, and inspecting systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnosing and fixing electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant faults in various air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Tracing issues in compressors, pumps, fans, controls, and other components.
- Responding to emergency calls, providing technical advice, and managing site-specific tasks.
- Adhering to SANS legislation and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) regulations, using PPE correctly, and handling equipment safely.
- Maintaining detailed records, managing stock, preparing job reports, and updating inventory.
Candidate Requirements
- Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Trade Certificate (Red Seal preferred) or relevant qualification.
- Understanding of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and SANS/SHEQ regulations.
- Proven experience with installation, servicing, and repair of various AC systems (split, VRF, chillers).
- Valid Code 10 Driver's License
- Good problem-solving, analytical thinking, teamwork, customer service, and strong hands-on skills.
- Willingness to work overtime, travel, and be on call.
