CFO - Mongolia
As CFO, you will be a strategic leader responsible for the company's full financial agenda from capital markets and M&A through to governance, controls, and project finance. This is a high-impact executive role requiring deep mining sector experience, strong international exposure, and the credibility to engage global investors, lenders, and partners.
You will play a pivotal role in funding exploration and development, evaluating acquisitions, and strengthening financial discipline across multi-jurisdictional operations.
This role is strictly for senior finance leaders from the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Executive Leadership
Act as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and Board.
Develop and execute financial strategy aligned to growth and asset development.
Lead financial due diligence, valuation, and integration for M&A transactions.
Capital Markets & Investor Relations
Lead equity and debt capital raises to fund exploration, development, and expansion.
Manage relationships with international investors, banks, and strategic partners.
Oversee investor communications, financial modelling, and market-facing materials.
Financial Management & Governance
Full accountability for budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cash flow.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant international reporting standards.
Strengthen internal controls, financial systems, and governance frameworks.
Project & Operational Finance
Support project financing, feasibility studies, and cost optimisation.
Partner with technical, exploration, and operations teams on capital decisions.
Manage auditors, legal advisors, and external consultants.
International & Regulatory Engagement
Represent the company in joint venture, financing, and regulatory negotiations.
Navigate complex cross-border financial, tax, and legal environments.
Promote ethical, transparent, and disciplined financial management.
Required Experience & Qualifications
This role is strictly for senior finance leaders from the mining sector.
Essential
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (MBA preferred).
Professional qualification: CA / CPA / ACCA (or equivalent).
10-15+ years senior financial leadership experience within mining.
Proven track record in M&A, capital raising (equity & debt), and investor relations.
Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and emerging markets.
Strong understanding of mining project finance, JVs, and off-take structures.
Exposure to TSX, ASX, AIM, or comparable international capital markets.
Prior experience working in developing or frontier markets.
