Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Project Manager Store Build to join their team in Midrand. This role will be responsible to lead the design & development process for shopfitting installations in retail. This includes managing a team of designers, developing design concepts, and working closely with the professional teams and stakeholders to deliver high quality designs that meet their needs and expectations.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
- Certification in Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience in a design-related field, preferably in shopfitting and retail design.
- Experience in the retail sector, with a understanding of retail design principles and best practices.
Advantageous
- Degree in a design-related field, such as interior design or architecture.
Job Description:
Store Design Concept:
- Lead the design and development process from the concept to completion.
- Ensure all concept implementation information is documented for roll out and implementation stage.
- Create, develop, coordinate and review site specific store layouts, designs, visuals, specifications and schedules - applying the established store design concept templates / criteria.
- Develop design concepts that meet Dischem standards and expectations.
- Ensure design are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in shopfitting design.
- Develop and implement design standards and guidelines.
- Manage software and tools, including MS Projects
- Ensure designs are compliant with South African National Standards (SANS) regulations and industry standards
- Ensure design are compliant with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC), Good practices as defined.
- Responsible for project reporting
- Providing feedback on project deliverable meetings with stakeholders
• Collaborate with team of designers, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to understand their requirements and preferences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management and installation teams.

• Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Essential:
- Knowledge of shopfitting installation process and procedures.
- Develops fresh ideas that provide solutions to all types of workplace challenges. Prioritise and concurrently lead and service multiple projects of varied scope and type.
- Ability to have a clear vision about what needs to be achieved. Understanding and analysing current position and resources required to execute.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other disciplines and stakeholders that builds productive relationship.
- Builds constructive working relationships characterised by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high quality designs within the retail sector.
- Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.
- Lead and manage a complex network of designers, external consultants/ vendors to ensure seamless integration.
- Proficient in design software, including CAD and 3D modeling and MS Project software. Strong design skills, with the ability to create innovative and effective designs. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiples projects simultaneously.
