Position SummaryThe Electrical Revit Draughtsman is responsible for producing accurate, compliant, and coordinated electrical design drawings and BIM models using Autodesk Revit MEP. This role supports engineering design teams from concept through construction documentation and ensures high-quality deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesRevit Modelling & Drawing ProductionDevelop and maintain electrical 3D models in Autodesk Revit (lighting, power, earthing, distribution boards, cabling systems, communication & security systems).Generate construction drawings, layouts, schematics, detail drawings, single lines, risers, schedules and annotations from Revit models.Ensure accurate and coordinated BIM content that reflects design intent and engineering standards.Project CoordinationCoordinate electrical services with architectural, structural, mechanical, fire, and plumbing disciplines within Revit BIM environment.Resolve clashes and design conflicts using Navisworks or BIM coordination tools.Participate in BIM coordination meetings with multi-discipline teams and contractors.Standards & ComplianceEnsure all drawings conform to relevant South African standards (SANS), local authority requirements, and client specifications.Apply company CAD/BIM standards and workflows consistently.Manage version control and drawing registers.Documentation & Quality ControlPrepare as-built drawings reflecting site changes and updated design information.Produce material take-offs, schedules, legends, and reports from the Revit model for procurement and construction use.Review and update detail libraries and templates.Support & CommunicationProvide technical drafting support to electrical engineers, designers, and project teams.Assist with design revisions, RFIs (Requests for Information), and shop drawing reviews.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Health, Safety & HousekeepingComply with company HSE policies and sit...

Qualifications
Educational Requirements

• National Diploma / BTech in:
• Electrical Engineering
• Engineering Draughting (Mechanical/Electrical)
• BIM / CAD Technology
• Related technical qualification

Certifications (Preferred)

• Autodesk Revit MEP Certified Professional (or similar)
• Training certificates in BIM workflows and coordination

Experience

• 3–5+ years drafting experience with emphasis on electrical services.
• Proven experience in Autodesk Revit MEP (minimum 3 years).
• Experience with BIM coordination workflows and clash detection (Navisworks or equivalent).
• Exposure to electrical design standards, power distribution, lighting design, earthing, and basic communication/security systems.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP
• Good understanding of electrical systems and schematic logic
• Ability to produce clear 2D drawings and 3D models
• Knowledge of Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar coordination tools
• Competent with Microsoft Office
