OPERATIONS & FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking a Pastel-savvy professional with a strong understanding of both the production and financial sides of a manufacturing business. This is a hands-on role supporting the financial, operational, and supply chain functions of a manufacturing and retail company.

Ideal for a bookkeeper who enjoys being involved beyond the books.

Location: New Germany / Pinetown (must live nearby – non-negotiable)
Salary: R15,000 – R18,000 (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply chain management (supplier orders, stock flow, and raw materials)

  • Stock control and management:

    • Stock takes

    • Stock balancing

    • Projections and reorder management (specifically on Sage Pastel)

  • Sage Pastel reporting and manufacturing module support

  • Support production targets, quality checks, and basic HR administration

  • Documentation Management: Gathering and reconciling all source documents, invoices, and receipts to ensure the accountant has an audit-ready file

  • Reporting Support: Summarising operational and manufacturing data into clear financial reports for high-level review

  • Payroll Support: Preparing monthly salary data, managing commissions, and ensuring tax and statutory submissions are handled

 

Required Skills

  • Bookkeeping: 4 to 5 years
  • Microsoft Excel: 4 to 5 years
  • Payroll: 4 to 5 years
  • Sage Pastel: 4 to 5 years
  • Stock Controller: 4 to 5 years

Candidate Requirements

Requirements (NON-NEGOTIABLE):

  • Minimum 4 years’ bookkeeping experience

  • Strong Sage Pastel experience, including:

    • Reporting and analysis

    • Manufacturing module and inventory control

    • Ability to optimise and fully utilise Pastel features

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Must live close to New Germany / Pinetown

Must Have Knowledge & Experience In:

  • Full bookkeeping function (sales, expenses, suppliers, and payroll)

  • Sage Pastel cashbook, bank, and credit card reconciliations

  • VAT201, EMP201, and EMP501 submissions
