Key Responsibilities
• Clinical Care
• Deliver immediate and comprehensive nursing care to trauma patients.
• Perform triage, stabilization, and advanced trauma interventions.
• Operate and manage emergency equipment (ventilators, defibrillators, infusion pumps).
• Administer medications and therapies in line with trauma protocols.
• Monitor patients for deterioration and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Patient & Family Support
• Provide clear communication and emotional support to patients and families in crisis.
• Educate families on trauma recovery and rehabilitation processes.
• Team Collaboration
• Work closely with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary trauma rounds, handovers, and case reviews.
• Operational Support
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and trauma unit standards.
• Contribute to audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid registration at the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Post-basic qualification in Trauma Nursing / Emergency Nursing.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ trauma or emergency care experience.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), or equivalent certification (essential).
