- Implement and manage workshop safety systems in line with ISO 45001 and other relevant standards
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and ensure corrective and preventative measures are implemented
- Monitor daily workshop operations for compliance with OHS legislation and internal safety policies
- Maintain accurate and up?to?date incident, inspection, and audit records
- Ensure all Legal Appointments are kept up to date
- Lead and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for workshop and site personnel
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all operational teams
- Work closely with workshop supervisors and project managers to ensure safe work practices
- Manage the ordering, stock control, and distribution of PPE for all workshop staff
- Ensure PPE compliance and correct usage at all times
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near?misses
- Compile clear, detailed investigation reports
- Oversee the implementation of corrective and preventative actions
- R30,000 – R40,000 per month
- Salary is negotiable based on experience and skills

Introduction
We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Construction Workshop Safety Officer with a strong background in steel construction, fabrication, or heavy industry. The successful candidate must be able to take full responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety within the workshop environment and must be capable of working independently without supervision.
Only applicants with a high standard of work ethic and a proven track record in safety leadership will be considered.

Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer in steel construction, fabrication, or heavy industry
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and OHS legislation
- Health & Safety certification: NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, OSHA, or equivalent
- Experience in PPE management and procurement
- Strong communication, leadership, and training skills
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and produce clear safety reports
- High attention to detail and commitment to a safety?first culture
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
