Purpose of the RoleThe Lead Generator is responsible for identifying and qualifying potential business customers, generating new sales leads, and setting appointments for the external sales team. The role focuses on outbound prospecting and is critical to driving new business growth.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead Generation & ProspectingConduct outbound cold calling to businesses to generate new leads.Identify decision-makers (IT Managers, Office Managers, Financial Managers, Directors).Source and qualify prospects through databases, CRM systems, referrals, and online research.Appointment SettingBook qualified appointments for New Business Sales Executives.Confirm appointments and ensure accurate handover of client information.Maintain a high level of appointment quality to support sales conversion.Client QualificationEstablish client needs relating to:Copiers & printersManaged print servicesVOIP & connectivityDocument management solutionsQualify prospects based on budget, authority, need, and timing (BANT).CRM & AdministrationAccurately capture all call outcomes, leads, and appointments on the CRM system.Maintain clean and up-to-date prospect databases.Track call volumes, leads generated, and appointments booked.Sales SupportWork closely with the sales team to improve lead quality.Follow up on marketing leads and previous enquiries.Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and objections.Professional ConductRepresent the company professionally at all times.Adhere to POPIA, company sales scripts, and calling guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum
Minimum
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Sales, marketing, or business-related qualification.
- Previous training in telesales or call-centre environments.
- 1–3 years’ experience in:
- Lead generation
- Telesales
- Call centre outbound sales
- Office Automation or ICT sales environment (advantage)
- Experience selling or promoting B2B services/products is beneficial.
