JOB DESCRIPTION:

The candidate is accountable for managing a team of junior analysts and implementing data analytics solutions related to the performance of the value-added products. The candidate will be involved in all steps within the data analytics cycle (Data preparation, model planning, modelling and communication of results) to deliver high quality analytics solutions to business.

The role provides guidance on financial modelling, costing structures, and product financial performance to ensure sustainability, transparency, and profitability.

The role requires a high level of collaboration with finance and operational teams.

DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management and updating of the analytics database.
Building financial models for product performance and pricing of the value-added products
Preparation, analysis and presentation of analytical/insights reports on product performance for financial reporting and management reports
Understanding of economic factors and risks impacting product pricing
Claims experience analysis
Supervise and guide direct reports on assigned tasks and career development
Preparation of budgets related to funds
Preparation of data for the auditors and external fund valuators consultants and handling any associated queries
Contribute to finance and fund committees related to product performance.
Maintaining documentations
Continuously reviewing SQL Models and processes and keep them up to date
Automation of the monthly reporting processes with support from Business Intelligence team.
Ad hoc analysis and support to adjacent teams

EDUCATION:

Degree (Maths, Stats, Economics) or any equivalent quantitative degree
Advanced excel
Intermediate SQL/Database experience
Exposure to statistical programming languages (R and/or Python), Candidates without SQL knowledge, but proficient in either R, Python will be considered.
Insurance or financial products knowledge will be advantageous

EXPERIENCE.KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

5+ years’ analytics experience
Data analytics certifications will be advantageous
Management experience
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Presentation skills to senior management
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work under pressure
Logical thinker
High level of integrity and attention to detail
Team player
Credit & criminal clear
Own or reliable transport
Own & live up to company values
