Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements (Income
Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), ensuring IFRS/GRAP compliance.
General Ledger & Reconciliations: Manage general ledger, perform balance sheet
reconciliations, and oversee bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations.
Month-End Close: Drive the month-end process, including journal entries (depreciation,
accruals, provisions) and closing suspense accounts.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Review and approve AP/AR transactions, ensuring proper coding and compliance. Monitor cash flow and manage collections and payments.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing
insights to management.
Tax & Statutory Compliance: Prepare and submit Advalorem, VAT, PAYE, IRP5, EMP501, and
corporate tax returns (SARS eFiling).
Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
Cash Management: Oversee daily cash flow, bank transactions, and petty cash.
Audit Support: Coordinate annual audits and provide supporting documentation to external
Auditors
Staff Supervision: Train and guide junior accountants or bookkeepers, ensuring accuracy in their
work.
Process Improvement: Implement and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal
controls.
Monitor and report on work-in-progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability.
Oversee multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange risk in international projects.
Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and collections.
Monitor client billing cycles, payment terms, and credit risk to ensure a healthy cash flow.
Resolve any discrepancies in supplier or client accounts in collaboration with relevant teams.
Ensure the accuracy of financial data in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Assist in system upgrades, financial integrations, and digital transformation projects.
