A reputable, well-established small-to-medium construction company based in Epping, Cape Town is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic and growing team.

This role offers exposure to both public and private sector projects, and is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys taking ownership and working closely with project teams on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of tender documentation and contract documents, including Bills of Quantities, for public and private sector construction projects
• Accurate and timeous submission of monthly valuations, including variations, site instructions, and claims
• Measurement and valuation of work completed on site in collaboration with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors
• Valuation and certification of subcontractor claims on a monthly basis
• Assist the Project Manager with fortnightly contractor valuations, ensuring work claimed aligns with progress on site
• Control, evaluation, and approval of project variations, liaising with clients and subcontractors
• Preparation of subcontractor appointment and contract documentation
• Expansion, screening, and reference checking of the subcontractor database
• Support the procurement process by assisting the buyer in negotiating competitive pricing and favourable terms with suppliers
• Attendance at site and progress meetings, providing commercial input and cost advice where required

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a construction company or professional QS (PQS) firm
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and MS Project
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence and own reliable transport
• Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
• Professional command of English (written and verbal)
• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and take initiative
