A well-established engineering company in Kempton Park is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to design, develop, and support electronic products from concept through to production. The successful candidates will be responsible for electronic circuit design, product development, testing, and technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with mining industry standards and company specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for mining applications
Perform schematic capture, simulation, and PCB design review
Support prototype development, testing, and validation
Conduct fault analysis and design improvements on existing products
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, safety, and regulatory requirements
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and design reports
Collaborate with production, quality, and technical teams during product rollout
Support manufacturing and resolve design-related issues
Participate in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives

Minimum Requirements

Eng in Electronic Engineering – essential
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in electronic design engineering (depending on level)
Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design
Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools
Ability to interpret and apply technical standards and specifications
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

Advantageous Experience

Experience designing electronic equipment for mining or industrial environments
Knowledge of intrinsically safe design and mining regulations
Embedded systems, microcontrollers, or FPGA experience
Exposure to EMC/EMI compliance and testing
Experience supporting products through manufacturing and lifecycle management
