Job Description
The EPC Management function is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction activities for mining capital projects. The role ensures that EPC projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, legal, technical, and regulatory requirements, while aligning with the company’s strategic and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the end-to-end management of EPC projects from feasibility and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activities to ensure alignment with project schedules and budgets.
Manage EPC contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contract terms, scope, quality, and performance standards.
Ensure compliance with mining, health and safety, environmental, and construction legislation, including MHSA and environmental regulations.
Monitor project progress, costs, risks, and performance, and report to senior management and governance structures.
Manage project risks, variations, claims, and change control in collaboration with Legal and Contract Management teams.
Ensure procurement activities align with project requirements, specifications, and approved supplier frameworks.
Support tendering, bid evaluations, and contract award processes for EPC projects.
Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, including operations, engineering, finance, legal, and external service providers.

Candidate Requirements
RequirementsProven experience in EPC management within mining, construction, or heavy industrial projects.
Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes in mining environments.
Experience managing large-scale capital projects and EPC contracts.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and risk management principles.
Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance in mining projects.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Mining).
Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) – advantageous.
Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. ECSA) – advantageous.

Ability to manage risks, variations, and claims effectively.
